
In 2007 MEP Destination Management celebrated its 30th Anniversary
by winning the silver award for best DMC at an industry award
ceremony in London and created significant events for prestigious
clients like the Family University for more than 700-guests from
the Young Presidents Organization that included an exclusive-use,
full-day event at the Topkapi Palace with 250-performers; a leading
management consultancy's new partners' meeting, that included
special events in Cappadocia; the MEM Congress of 800 guests;
and the Pritzker Award Ceremony at the Dolmabahçe Palace.
At the same time as creating memories featuring the classical
we undertook cutting edge sponsorship events in connection with
the Formula 1 races that now feature in Turkey's annual calendar
for Shell, Toyota, Philip Morris, IBM and Nokia.
This range of events serves to highlight well the diversity
that is Turkey. Istanbul, the colossally cosmopolitan city,
where architectural riches span centuries - Istanbul was the
capital of the Roman, Ottoman and Byzantine empires and has
the architecture to prove it. For
western travelers Istanbul is truly exotic, the sights, the
sounds, the food, the music and the culture - it's all excitingly
strange, intriguingly unusual. Yet Istanbul is only the tip
of the iceberg - Turkey has some amazing places to visit that
fit well into an incentive travel itinerary, from Cappadocia,
Bodrum, Kusadasi and Antalya to the Aegean to the Black Sea.
Remember too that Turkey is incredibly safe and welcoming to
Americans, probably because the Turks are known the world-over
as hospitable, gracious, serious, sincere, warm and friendly
people.
